A Feast

Hello everyone! Hope you are all having a Merry Christmas season already. I know I am! I have been in the Christmas spirit at home and at school.

It all began when Andy brought home some hot chocolate!!
Very cozy, although we had to turn the air conditioner on to cool down!

I finished my last day of school on Friday until next year.
It was a fast three weeks since the flood.
Andy says my blog makes it sound like I am too busy to enjoy my work...so I just want to clear that up. It has been a very challenging year so far, but I am loving it! I will be staying until my two year contract is up for sure! The students really are wonderful. I probably learn more from them, then the amount I teach them. I am very happy here, and enjoy going to work every day! (I do not, however, enjoy waking up at 6....but I guess that is a part of life).

The breathtaking bulletin board my grade seven students created.

Gingerbread houses! Looking like they were destroyed by a fire (which was really the mouths of ravenous students.. and teachers)

Some of my grade seven and eight girls.

Grade nines rocking out.
We had a BBQ and concert on Thursday evening at school. Friday was a day of fun, random Christmas activites.

A dedicated student doing homework in the doorway.

Part of Tharnpanya School, the Thai school beside ours. It was their first week back since the flood (they have no Christmas holidays).

Santa.

High school gift exchange that lasted 3 hours.

Me, some of my bosses and co-workers standing by our Christmas feast made by the principal's wife.

Turkey!!!! (and ham).
I am guessing the turkeys cost an arm and a leg to buy. The birds do not exist in Thailand, so they are imported from somewhere.

Just like home!!!!! (minus the perogies and cabbage rolls).

Louise playing in the "snow room" created for the elementary (and high school) students. It was truly a magical room.

Snow!

Well look who it is! Neala and Brooks! We met up with them on their last night (Friday) before departing back to Sask.
They spent the last couple weeks down south on the beaches, on their honeymoon!
It was so nice to see them :)

I spent the first day of my holidays babysitting another teacher's child. We had great fun!
Went for lunch, saw a 3D movie, went shopping, made a craft, had dinner, fed fish, painted our nails, and watched a movie. We were both exhausted at the end of the day!

The wreath I made!
Tonight, Andy and I are going to the airport to pick up his family!!! On Wednesday we are all taking an overnight train down to the island of Koh Tao which is the beginning of our three week holiday together! I will be taking my computer with me so I can continue to email, blog, and Skype with you peeps at home. Enjoy some of that cold weather for me! (It is currently 27°C here, and dare I say it...it feels a bit cold! "Cool season" has begun).
