All Good Things Come to an End

A relaxing three days was spent on the giant island of Phuket to end our vacation. We are now back to the hustle and bustle of Bangkok.

Another perfect week spent on the island of Koh Phi Phi. Hands down, our favourite place in Thailand.

We stayed at our favourite resort.

For most foreigners, Songkran holidays (the Thai new year) is celebrated with buckets...

and water fights.

Some of us opted for a more chilled out new years- an evening of seafood feasting on the beach.

Krabi, Take Seven

Greetings from paradise! For the next 5 days we are living the life here on the island of Koh Phi Phi. Will I survive the adventure with 5 boys? Stay tuned!

Our 3 nights in Krabi went quick. Here are a few snapshots of the trip:

Boys..often getting hustled on the beach. No one bothers me, so I can just laugh away.

We did some shopping,

a lot of eating,

and monkey-seeing, as well as beaching.

Ladyboy encounters, always a joyous time.

One reason I love Thailand...their honest signs.

Another day spent on Railay Beach. Will I ever get enough of this place?

The Return of Songkran

This post is coming to you from the southern beaches of Thailand. Instead of posting more beach pictures, I figured I would recap my week.

My friends Laura and Supot had us over for a traditional Thai meal, served in the traditional Thai way..on the floor.  The fried chicken was to die for.

The dinner was to celebrate the recent engagement of our co-workers. A clown cake was the closest thing Dairy Queen had to symbolize the occasion.

The scent of fresh jasmine flowers filled the air.

On Thursday, the elementary students along with children from a local orphanage, spent the day playing together at a beautiful, gigantic, and deserted park.

Feeding fish. Had too many close calls with kids almost falling in.

"Okay everyone, look like you are miserable, grumpy, and ready to go hommeee!"

On Friday we celebrated Songkran at school.

The water pouring ceremony. We (the teachers) had to give each and every student a blessing.

And then we had an afternoon of intense water fights!

Then we celebrated the arrival of our four friends, and the start of our two week Songkran holiday by spending the evening on Khao San Road.

We opted out from eating corn and ice cream.

Instead we drank buckets and ate deep fried crickets.

It wasn't the first time I had them, but it just may be the last.
