Coconuts and Buckets

I'm back..relaxed, refreshed and a tad too tanned after a long weekend island getaway!

The second the school bell rang on Friday, 7 of us teachers got the heck outta there! After 3 hours in a private van, and 15 minutes on a speed boat, we arrived at the closest island to Bangkok, Koh Samet.

Our daily ritual, fresh fruit and coconut juice.

Beach flowers.

Clifford the Big Red Dog......the Thai version. Even though you can't tell in the photo, this dog was GIANT. To help keep him cool, the staff at our resort were constantly burying him in the sand.

The men's washroom sign.

One of the hundreds of sky lanterns lit each night.

Our days were spent lying on the beach, reading, swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.. while our evenings consisted eating and drinking delicious things for several hours.

Fire shows every night.
This little cutie was about 5 years old, and already a pro.
Squid boats in the background.

Buckets.

This bar let random people jump through this flaming hoop all night. Not exactly the safest thing to do after consuming a bucket or two.

A Chang tower.

Hard to hate seafood when it's so fresh.

Drinking pina coladas while digging your toes in the sand.....
being a teacher in Thailand is tough.

Sold EVERYWHERE.

View at breakfast.

Stocking the kitchen.

Until we meet again, ocean!
